Stephen Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme

Doctor Strange! The next big Marvel movie is set to be on the big screen in November 2016. You've probably all seen the trailer (if you haven't, you can watch it down below!). With this post we hope to shine a light on the basic storyline of the Sorcerer Supreme. We don't really know what MCU will do with the story but it's always fun to know the basics about a character who's getting his first movie.

No original Ant-man for Disney

I think we can all agree Ant-man was yet another Disney success. The story was on point and it was an all around good movie, enjoyable for both general people and marvel fanboys. Before it played, I was really curious about why they choose Scott Lang to star as the Ant-man.

When you read the comics you'll notice that most of the time the Ant-man suit is worn by Henry Pym. Henry invented the suit and the famous pym particle. He's also one of the founding members of the avengers and the original inventor of Ultron! After some research the choice to pick Scott Lang as our movie hero became clear to me. Henry isn't the most stable guy you see, in the comics he has several mental breakdowns. Combine those with his bad temper and you get a guy who becomes both verbal and physical aggressive towards his wife (the wasp). The Marvel comic writers didn't mind putting it on paper but this is something Disney won't have since... well they are Disney!

Worthy widow

We all know about Mjolnir the epic and mystical weapon of Thor, God of thunder. Only they who are worthy to rule the nine realms can lift and command the massive hammer. Thor takes much pride in his weapon and isn't shy about him being worthy.

The Maximoff twins

In the recent 'age of Ultron' movie, Disney has painted a pretty good picture of the Maximoff twins Pietro and Wanda. Pietro who is both impulsive and a little bit overprotective. Wanda who has trouble controling her powers and who doesn't even realize how much power she actually has. the characteristics were on point.

Disney wasn't really specific about how they got their powers (something about Strucker experimenting with Loki's staf). The reason why the Disney movie doesn't really explain their origin story is easy. Wanda and Pietro (aka Scarlett witch and Quicksilver) are originally mutants!! Even better, they aren't just any mutants they are the children of Magneto himself! As we know FOX owns the rights on the x-men so that's why it was never mentioned in the Disney film.

The shocking death of Quicksilver at the end of Avengers age of Ultron is a strange turn of events since the twins become two of the oldest members of the avengers in te comics. Wanda even falls in love with her fellow avenger The Vision at one point.

Fox has already brought their version of quicksilver in the 'Days of future past' movie so chances are we're going to see the twins next to their old man on the big screen one day!
